The health benefits of matcha tea exceed those of green tea because when you drink matcha you ingest the whole leaf, not just the brewed water. One cup of. Did someone say margaritas? I'm talking Mango, Guava, Original, and much more. You can shuffle your margarita flavors until the ringing in your ear is no longer your boss' voice but the sweet, sweet sound of music and your waitress asking if you're ready to start with a flatbread (which you are). We started with the Crab Flatbread. We enjoyed it, although I hear the mushroom is the way to go. The three of us then split four tapas. We started with the shrimp - it is an abomination if you don't go with the shrimp. My god. Beautiful, spicy, and ask for extra bread. Okie dokie, order another margarita and let's eat that calamari the waiter just dropped off. Nope, you don't have to dip it in any sriracha- mayo- crapyoufindatanormaltapasplace. It's already tossed in a deliciously sweet and tangy sauce. Good to go. We then devoured the Bacon- wrapped- dates. Plated beautifully. Finishing our evening was (one more margarita) the ham- based tapas. Goat cheese, tomato, ham - greatness. The bartender kicked ass, the service was beyond incredible and I couldn't be happier about our choice for happy hour. Tip: if you want a good seat - check out Tuesday nights. A little slower but plenty of drink specials. Have fun and enjoy this spot! The location of Marcha Cocina is great if you live in Washington Heights or work somewhere at Columbia University Medical Center. A Marcha Dos PinguinsIt's easy to miss, but definitely worth a stop in. I came for happy hour the other day and it was great! They have a number of really awesome deals on draft beers, wines, sangrias, and margaritas from 3- 8 pm. I love that their happy hour starts earlier than most, and their white sangria was not only affordable but also delicious. I didn't get to try any of the food but hope to be back for it some time! It smelled so good near the kitchen. The decor is so cute and colorful - I love the yellow couches! They were also playing a great playlist while I was there that was not too loud so you could still talk to those you were with. Would definitely recommend to stop by for happy hour with some friends or coworkers if you're in the area! A jewel in the crown of Washington Heights. Have you ever found a place close to home and think I don't want to tell people about it because it's my secret place? Mine! That's how much I think of Marcha Cocina. Of course I share it, sometimes. Excellent place any day, any time. I pop in after work or like now, Sunday afternoon. When I should be grocery shopping, don't judge, it's thirsty work. Regardless of when you come, you are guaranteed a few things; excellent food, the best happy hour and great service. Fish tacos and calamari are two of my favorites. The Paella con Langosta and the Croquetas are delicious. I'm quickly eating my way through the menu and nothing has failed thus far. The decor is modern, clean with great uptempo music. It all helps whisk your imagination away to distant islands. The staff are always ready with a welcoming smile and a devilish cocktail, what're you waiting for? Get in there. Where do I begin. Marcha is one of my favorite restaurants for brunch. I can now say I've had every dish on their menu. Absolutely nothing disappoints. At times I've been the first walk in b cause they open at 3. PM Monday to Thursday. It's isn't long before regulars or groups of 4 to 6 start strolling in. The place lends itself to those type of gatherings. The service is always personal and on point. The food is delicious and esthetically appealing. The bartender/staff are true professionals and seems to enjoy what they do. It has become a real staple in my he community. TWO THUMBS UP TO MARCHAAhh Marcha. Because I feel like being nostalgic and because I wasn't an avid yelp user at the time I feel like I owe it to Marcha for a review! When I lived in Washington Heights this was my go to breakfast spot EVERY weekend. Mary's for two hours. The food is great. Great brunch options. The atmosphere is modern and clean. A serious asset to Washington Heights! I came here also on a Friday or Saturday night and was surprised to see how my favorite brunch spot transformed into a poppin' bar atmosphere. The drinks were good and my friend and I had a fun night despite it having been ungodly cold out that night. I will never forget you Marcha. So many tipsy Sundays after working a long, tiresome week you lifted my spirits and rejuvenated me for the next week! Thanks for the memories! Marcha is a great place to visit for tapas, paella and delicious drinks. They have daily happy hour from 4pm- 8pm. You can't beat the prices. The tapas are all amazing. Marcha is actually a Michelin recommended restaurant. My favorite tapas are the chicken flatbread and bacon wrapped dates. Delicious! They have a nice variety of draft beers and the sangria is top notch. I've had the seafood paella several times and never been disappointed. I really enjoy this place and will continue to visit. I had a great night here for a social event. Upon entry, we were greeted by the welcoming staff made our way to some cute cocktail tables, of which we opted for one of the ones in the back because of the super frigid out. Clarissa, one of the servers, had been doing her best to make us feel at home considering neither of us eat pork and some of the apps are very pig friendly. We have been enjoying the Yuca Fries to no end and my sis snagged the last Goat Cheese Croquette (yes, I'm jealous because she RAVED). The Chicken Flatbread is A MUST TO ORDER on any regular night. We also tried a few Pumpkin Ciders w/Cinnamon Rims (of which, I am IN LOVE). I was also given the pleasure of nursing a glass of red that had been obviously aerated, just for me. I love the vibe, the staff was wonderful and working nonstop to make us all feel at home. I would definitely have to make a return visit and try them out on my own time. The food is on point. Televisions dot the walls for your S/O who just HAS to watch that game, be it Bball or Futbol. The artwork is sexy and need I repeat the fact that the service is bomb?! Marcha Cocina is perfect since nice I live twenty minutes away and work down a few blocks at Columbia University (score!). Before the end of the evening, Clarissa made sure that I was blessed with a Goat Cheese Croquette of my very own and it was a tangy, creamy, round, breaded dream. I can't wait to sample the rest of their menu. I really like this place for happy hour. I'll get the cons out of the way first since the pros outweigh them. Much like any NYC place, it's small - a tighter fit for all as the hours go on, so just be prepared to get cozy with basically everyone if you have to head to the bathroom at any point.. NOISY Whenever I go for happy hour, I typically leave there with much less of a voice. At about 5pm, the club feel of happy hour really kicks in and there's no avoiding it. You have to basically yell to hold a conversation .. I did take off one star since I've bumped into people when walking back to the bathroom and lost my voice a bit after HH before : P. Happy hours are above and beyond - literally. They have happy hour weekdays from 3- 8pm! You'd be hard pressed to find any bar that isn't a much smaller period of time. This way, you can come early and stay late. They were smart about this! YUMMMMM cocktails. How can you go wrong with $6 margaritas? They're really good and strong and they don't make you wait a long time when ordering - what more could you ask.. Great food! You can pair your yummy inexpensive drink with really yummy tostones or one of the amazing flatbreads - my fave is Hongos e Higos Coca .. If you're looking for another great snack, go for the patata bravas - so good! Now this place knows how to do a boozy brunch! Came here last week with my boyfriend for a birthday brunch celebration. I had the bottomless guava mimosa, he had the mango. So delicious and their 3: 1 champagne to juice ratio was right on. For $1. 2 you can get 9. We definitely had our moneys worth, but the waiter came over and asked if we wanted another round. I informed him that I thought we were nearing the 9. Like I said, THAT'S how you do boozy brunch! We were going to another place to eat afterwards but were informed we had to order $8 worth of food each. No problem. We ordered the calamari & the shrimp dish. OMG. Were we glad we did. The shrimp comes out sizzling in a skillet filled with a butter/olive oil, garlic, cilantro & red pepper flake mixture, as well as toasty bread to dip into the deliciousness. My only complaint is that the shrimp were TINY - I know I'm not at a seafood restaurant but this dish would be absolutely perfecto if the shrimp were of average size. The calamari was delicious, tossed in a tangy, sweet red sauce. Bottomless mimosas plus 2 small plates ran us $5. The seating, at least where we were (in the booths area towards the back) was crammed, tight, uncomfortable, and the bench seating was doing this weird slanty thing. I also sat down in a huge puddle of water (I hope) that was left behind on my seat and was left with a wet behind for the entire brunch : /I enjoy Spanish food and Spanish tapas, especially their seafood. I found this Spanish tapas restaurant, who also is opened for brunch. Their food looked really good, so we decided to head over for some good tapas for brunch. From the outside, it didn't really look like much, and seemed really small. The inside is rather small, but with lots of natural lights coming in from large windows and vivid colors, it made the space feel a bit more open. We started with coffee and mimosa, which were both just ok. They offer regular brunch items, such as Benedict, Omelet, and Pancakes, but we wanted some tapas to share, so we only ordered from the tapas menu.
